Was pleasantly surprised when the various graphical elements for the Beijing Olympics 2008 was unveiled to the public. The game's offical logo itself is a clever presentation of the word "京" (which is the last character for Beijing in Chinese) in the form of an athlete running amidst of backdrop of stunning red.
From the choice of colors to the use of chinese motifs, the various graphical elements managed to bring together a modern and yet distinctly eastern feel to the games.
Do check out the various pictograms designed for the individual games and also the games' medals which are inlaid with jade. [link]
